In 1975, brothers Loren and Curtis Johnson acquired the weekly newspaper and custom printing shop. Following Curtis’s retirement in 1995, Loren's spouse, Dianne, joined him as a co-owner. Loren, a graduate in print/letterpress from Dunwoody Industrial Institute in Minneapolis in 1957, brought extensive experience in commercial printing to the enterprise. While stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, during his service with the U. S.
